Advanced practice supervision - a multi-professional learning resource
The purpose of advanced practice supervisor training is to ensure that supervisors are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviours to support the development of advanced practitioners in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. This development spans clinical, educational, leadership, and research capabilities.
The Advanced Practice Supervisor Capabilities framework provides a national standard for effective supervision, promoting consistency and professional growth. To support this, NHS England South East Faculty for Advancing Practice has created a multi-professional eLearning resource aligned with the framework. It includes a skills scan for self-assessment and mandatory foundational modules, helping both new and experienced supervisors tailor their learning and enhance their supervisory practice.
