Mental Health Crisis Breathing Space

This programme will introduce the mental health crisis breathing space, which pauses enforcement action and freezes interest and charges on debts while a person is receiving mental health crisis treatment, and for 30 days after crisis treatment ends.

Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) can complete an Evidence of Mental Health Crisis Treatment form to certify that a person is receiving mental health crisis treatment for the purposes of the scheme.

This programme explores the scheme, the evidence form and how to refer someone to a debt advice provider for this purpose.

This programme was originally located on the elfh hub and was first published on 30 April 2021. It migrated on to the Learning Hub on 26 June 2024.
