Cancer awareness training by Talk Cancer, Cancer Research UK
This catalogue is to help promote learning materials that help people have positive cancer conversations.
Talk Cancer is a cancer awareness training programme from Cancer Research UK - the world's leading independent cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information.
Talking can help breakdown the fear and barriers to seeking help, but we know that talking about cancer isn’t easy. Talk Cancer gives people the knowledge and confidence to have conversations in their community about cancer prevention and early diagnosis.
The resources featured in the Talk Cancer catalogue will help to equip people with the skills and knowledge to recognise opportunities to have conversations and share simple messages, enabling positive changes that could save lives.
Our target audience is anyone who can play a role in improving the health or wellbeing of others in their community. This can include, but not limited to:
* Community Health workers
* GP practice staff
* Nurses
* Occupational therapists
* Radiographers
* Pharmacists
* Mental Health professionals
* Sexual Health professionals
* Dentist
* Social workers
* Community volunteers
* Allied health professionals
We train people in a broad range of roles, so they can make every contact count and raise awareness of cancer in communities across the UK.
One of our resources is a free, online course which is hosted by FutureLearn. Apart from this, we don’t currently have any other partnerships on resources.
