What is Health Research? - Supporting Participants by Embedding a Research Culture
This NHS Research E-learning Catalogue is a curated suite of modular, accessible online learning aimed at embedding research awareness and capability across the workforce. Objectives: introduce fundamental research concepts; increase staff confidence to support and participate in research; standardise baseline knowledge; measure engagement and impact via KPIs (completions, knowledge gain, confidence, feedback); and create a governance-enabled, maintainable library that can scale into specialist pathways. Target audience: The modules are designed for all NHS staff with little or no research experience , with particular relevance for clinical staff (nurses, AHPs, pharmacists), primary care professionals (GPs, practice teams), early and mid-career professionals seeking development opportunities. Content approach: repurpose and adapt NIHR learning assets into concise, interactive e-learning hub modules with clear learning outcomes and assessment. Collaboration: co-developed and governed by NHS England and NIHR Research Delivery Network, with technical publishing and reporting support from the NHS England digital learning teams, and policy alignment with DHSC stakeholders to ensure quality and sustainability.
