- I understand that there are different types of health care data. Some that captures experiences, opinions, and attitudes. Other data that records numerical data such as age, dates, test results, and how they may be categorised or coded with onward use in mind
- I know that health data can be used for multiple purposes (e.g. planning, service redesign, benchmarking and audit) and across a range of settings (e.g. acute, population health).
- I know the way to use data to support clinical improvement and cases for change.
- I have curiosity to explore the root causes of a trend or exception. I can explore the relationship between data and am able to look at data in context rather than in isolation.
- I understand my influence on peers or stakeholders and help them to understand the potentials and applications of data, raising collective awareness about using data
- .I can identify and describe the difference between structured and unstructured data collection and recording.
- I understand the impact that poor quality and missing data has on patients and service delivery. I consider the ethical implications of missing data on my decision making.
