Finding Pfam's protein families data in the InterPro website
Overview
Pfam is a large collection of multiple sequence alignments and hidden Markov models covering many common protein domains. Together with twelve other resources, it is part of theInterPro member database consortium.
After 20 years of good and faithful service, we have decided to retire the Pfam website. We are still planning to do Pfam releases and the data will still be available through theInterPro website. This webinar aims to ease the transition from Pfam to InterPro by showing different ways to search and access the Pfam annotations in the InterPro website.
Outcomes
After this webinar you will be able to:
- Perform a protein sequence search using Pfam as a target member database and analyse the results
- Use the InterPro text search to find a Pfam entry
- Search by domain architecture using Pfam entries
- Know where to find Pfam annotations in the InterPro website, e.g. Matching proteins, linked structures and models, taxonomy distribution, and more
- Visualise Pfam sets (AKA clans)
