Violent and aggressive behaviour affects everyone. It can have a negative impact upon the standard of services we deliver, and the quality of patient care we provide.
Staff need to feel safe and secure in their working environment and have confidence they have the skills and support mechanisms in place to address abusive behaviour.
At the end of this course delegates will be able to:

Recognise different aspects of conflict that they may encounter.

Understand and be aware of different methods of resolving conflict.

Implement de-escalation, communication, and calming skills to help them prevent and manage violent situations.

Identify incidents and behaviour which is clinically related.

Complete incident reports to include the key information required.

Understand how incidents are collated, prioritised, and managed, in their organisation.
-
Access support mechanisms available to staff.
