Introduction
- The Simulated Consultation Assessment (SCA) is the final exam in GPtraining, required to obtain a Certificate of Completion of Training,testing communication and consultation skills via online consultationswith simulated patients¹.
- National data shows a significant differential attainment gap, with a94.3% pass rate for UK graduates at first attempt versus 51.5% forinternational medical graduates (IMGs)².
- Consequences of exam failure include delay in training progression,stress and mental health challenges, and increasedfinancial pressures.
