Breaking the silence: sexual safety for healthcare students and trainees
This session describes the issue of sexual safety, explaining what sexual harassment is, why it happens and why students and/or trainees can be particularly vulnerable in clinical environments. It explores why incidents often go unreported, offers guidance on personal boundaries and active bystander behaviour, provides clear advice on how to report concerns and also how to support someone who discloses an experience of sexual harm.
