Learner Support in Practice

Resources in this folder are appropriate for academic education institutions, healthcare placement providers and healthcare learners. The folder includes:

1) Learner Support in Practice - Best Practice Toolkit  aligned with the priorities outlined in the NHS Safe Learning Environment Charter and its EDI Golden Thread.

2) Inclusive Practice Training Slides for Practice Educator Training (placement providers) and Academic in Practice Training (academic education providers).

3) Inclusive Learning Resources for Healthcare Learners as part of 'preparation for practice'.

4) Learner Preparation for Practice (implementation guidance for academic education providers).

5) Degree Ethnicity Awarding Gaps and Practice Education - an introductory video for healthcare placement providers.

All educators and practitioners are encouraged to review the ITP Inclusive Teaching and Practice Guidance, which complements and enriches the use of these resources.

All resources incorporate the Inclusive Training within Practice Project’s two golden threads and three key themes:

Regional collaboration on Learner Support in Practice, aimed at exploring shared challenges and opportunities, was led by Rohit Sagoo as part of the ITP project. The ITP project team developed a range of resources, shaped by insights and feedback from healthcare placement providers and academic education institutions across the South West.
