Positive Action in Healthcare Practice Settings

This section provides guidelines on Positive Action together with a complementary e-learning module with guided videos and case stories.

Positive Action refers to measures that aim to help individuals from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups overcome barriers and achieve equal opportunities. In the UK, positive action is legally supported under the Equality Act 2010 but must be implemented carefully to avoid crossing into unlawful positive discrimination.

The resource provides best practices for healthcare education providers and practice placement providers to ensure that positive action initiatives are effective, fair, and legally compliant.
