Learning Resources for Clinical Informatics Pharmacy Professionals

Pharmacy informatics has grown to be an integral discipline within the clinical informatics domain with Pharmacists’ professional identity, education, training, and experience with medication management making them ideal leaders to play a significant role and fill a critical role within the informatics sector.
Despite the growing number of formally trained pharmacy informaticists, the path and skills required for a career in this specialist area of informatics is still unclear. There are disparate differences across the clinical informatics landscape in terms of the training received for pharmacy informaticians and we wanted to try and standardise this. We organised a workshop with a group of experienced pharmacy informaticians from across the country to explore what they thought are the core skills, knowledge and capabilities needed to develop pharmacy informaticians. With this intelligence we have created a helpful resource where pharmacists can easily locate learning resources and materials to become the digital pharmacy leaders of the future.
